You will be certified by the State of Texas once the examination given by the Department of State Health Services is successfully completed.
This 16 hour course is designed to teach you basics of becoming an Animal Control Officer. Your course is approved by the Department of State Health Services and covers all of the required curriculum with additional training in animal cruelty, dangerous dog and humane animal care. You will also benefit from this course with an online refresher that will test your knowledge and make you successful in order to pass the state examination.
You will be Texas state registered to euthanize after completion of this course. No animals will be euthanized during this course.
This course will give you all of the information that you will need in order to be certified to euthanize animals in the State of Texas. No animals will be euthanized during this process. A venipuncture portion will be conducted so that you have the skills to perform the duties of euthanasia technician. Decapitation for rabies samples and forensic necropsy techniques will be covered. A total of 14 continuing education hours will be given.
This course is a 7.5 hour continuing education, state certified refresher course for those that hold a current certificate of completion. This course is required every 3 years by the State of Texas.
